Justin Dobies is a SAG-AFTRA stunt performer who has been choreographing fights for theater and film since 2004. While training at Yale, he served as fight director for over 30 theatrical productions within a two year span.
Justin trained in stage combat at the Yale School of Drama under Broadway legend Rick Sordelet and apprenticed under the guidance of New York fight director Mike Rossmy. He also crafted his own program of study with courses such as A Critical History of Stage Combat and Towards a Poetics of Theatrical Combat with Dr. Daniel Larlham.
Justin trained for a semester at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art under English Fight Master, Jonathan Waller, before returning to Yale in 2010 to found the Yale College Theatrical Combat Association for which he also taught workshops.
He has served as fight director for numerous organizations such as the Yale Baroque Opera Project, Yale Dramatic Association, Yale Drama Coalition, Yale College Original Shakespeare Company, and the Yale Heritage Theater Ensemble.
His most recent credits include the indie darling, DEAR WHITE PEOPLE and Marvel's UNTITLED AVENGERS 4.
Justin is currently training everyday at JAM in tricking, tumbling, and parkour.
